NWA Fishing Tournament at Lake McConaughy

The Nebraska Walleye Association will host its 2nd qualifying walleye tournament of 2022 at Lake McConaughy May 14-15. Anglers must fish 3 qualifying events to be invited to the state championship at Merritt Reservoir in October.

KIDS CLINIC: Fishing is Fun and Lured In will hold a FREE Kids Fishing Clinic at Lured In (north of Ogallala) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday May 14 after the NWA Walleye Tournament first day weigh in (3:00 p.m. at North Shore). Contact Lured In at (308) 284-7575 to sign up.  To register, you will need to provide child’s name, parents name and phone number.  If you sign up, we will hold a spot for your child(ren).PLEASE make sure they attend, as space is limited and other children who could have enjoyed this clinic may have been turned away due to capacity limits. Parents are encouraged to attend.

Sign up early and please bring the signed waiver with you to the clinic. The waiver can be downloaded from the Nebraska Walleye Association’s Facebook page. 

Certified Aquatic Education Fishing Instructors from the NWA Kids Fishing Clinics Charity, Inc., Nebraska Game and Parks, and tournament fisherman will be there to teach everything you want to know about fishing including casting, knot tying, bait, tackle, water safety, and fish identification and anatomy.  All clinic participants will receive a certificate, fishing rod & reel, and other items- FREE!!!  After the workshop you will be ready to go fishing!
